I am requesting help to pay off my huge student loan. I have been a teacher for 31 years and need to retire. My student loan was in forebearance for quite some time. I can get no loan forgiveness or help. I pay $600 a month and after a year only $600 goes on the principle. The loan total now sits at $84000.00. As you can see I CANNOT retire. I would be happy to provide the SallieMae account number so money can be paid directly to SallieMae loans. Health issues are making retirement a must. Hello i am looking for help with food? I was told about this site from someone in my class and they said they were helped so I thought I would put my pride aside and ask for help. I don't have kids but I do need help with things. I applied for food stamps but because I am a student and do not have kids I am not eligible for them. Hello I live in Central  Il. My husband and I have 4 children together and he has 3 from a previous relationship. We are in need of help to give our children a Christmas we can not afford ourselves. This year has been very hard on us as a family. We have lost two very close family members this year and it has taken a toll on us. One died in January and one in July. My husband also lost his job in October and we have been barely scraping by. We are both in school to finish our degrees mine in social work and my husband for auto mechanics. We want the best for our children but these times have been really tough. It feels as though we are being punished for doing the right thing.  We have sold things and pawned things just to pay the bills. We try to keep a strong face but we would be heartbroken to not be able to give our kids a Christmas. We usually get them signed up with salvation army's toys for tots but since we can't afford a cell phone I didn't find out about the days for that until it was too late and we missed sign up. We have 4 boys and 3 girls. We are fighting for full custody of my husbands children because their mother does drugs and mentally abuses them.all of this is so hard that our one wish this holiday season would be for the kids to not know how much we are suffering and just be able to enjoy Christmas. Will you please help me so I can provide my children with Christmas? It has been a terrible year both financially and emotionally. My Mother passed after a long and hard battle with Ovarian Cancer on October 4th 2011. My partner of twenty years has left us; I have no other place to turn for help.

I am a single mother of two; one boy and one girl and I am a disabled student at the Junior College level. I have been stuck at the college level for the past 18 months due to my inability to pass my Math Statistics Course. I am no longer eligible to receive any type of grants, loans or scholarships. I am now required to pay for my college supplies and expenses. I dream of completing, so I can transfer to the State level.

The limited resources I did have were used on gas so I could travel back and forth between my Mothers in Monterey County and class here in Sonoma County. Hi I have never really asked for help like this... so I dont really know where to start. Well' I just turned 20 years old and I live in Dallas, TX.
I was renting an apartment with my fiance, he was the only one working and I was the house wife and still going to college. I ended up kicking him out because (as embarrassing as this is to say) he was abusive and kind of controlling. I realized that as much as I loved him no matter what I did, he didn't want to change. He was going to continue drinking, breaking things around the house and hurting me as well. So one day... I got all of my clothes and left. The next day I called him and told him that scene the apartment was under my name he had to leave or I would call the cops. After he left, I moved back in because I had no where else to go. I only have like a week to come up with the rent money and even if I get a job right now I wont be able to pay the whole rent on time. I only need help for this month. Does anyone know of any church or Organization that would be willing to help me with the rent? just for this month... I am already looking for a job and willing to work.

Ask the financial aid counselor at your school if they help you find scholarships. They would be the ones to point you in the right direction.

I'm a 20 year old man who has run into some rough times. I was a student at a nearby university before familial and financial hardship found its way into my life. It's now been a year since I finally found myself unable to support my education, transportation, and basic needs without support from my family. As a result, the past year of my life has been spent moving from job to job, living off of what little I have been making, and hoping that something better will present itself. I was taken into an apartment by a friend, but I am now unable to pay my way here since we lost our room mate. I have less than 2 days to come up with the power bill, which is not looking good. I also have the same amount of time in which to find enough money for my credit card payment. Our rent has become far too much, but due to previous late payments, we are unable to transfer to a smaller unit and reduce our expenses. I am an extremely hard worker, and I have always believed that we must be willing to work hard to get what we want and need. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a better job that pays more and offers more hours. This is honestly the lowest point I've ever hit in my life. I am out of ideas, and out of resources. This is my last hope, it seems, to find a way out of this hole. I am in excellent physical condition, skilled in many trades including HVAC and yard work, and I am absolutely willing to do whatever it takes to make it back to a half way decent living situation. Don't hesitate to ask questions regarding past jobs, leadership training, etc. For what it's worth, I am an Eagle Scout. I know what hard work is, what honor means, and how to make things happen. I hope to God there is someone out there with advice.

Hey everyone.
I just came across this website when I googled, "how to get money for rent" and I found this really interesting. I am 20 years old, I'm a full time student and I have only lived in Charlotte for about 7 months. I finally just found a part time job here, making minimum wage. It is a little frustrating because I've had quite a few interviews for jobs that I am qualified to do and have experience doing. I've never had such a hard time finding a job before. My parents always told me that as long as I am in school and have a job, they don't mind helping me out. They don't believe me that I am looking for a full-time job or higher paying job and they told me that they are done helping me. I don't believe that they fully understand how tough it is. I need ideas on how to make extra money so that I can get by. I can't even tell you how many applications I've filled out and how many places I have sent my resume to. I've posted ads on craigslist looking for any kind of work. Sadly, I don't even have money to buy myself food for the week. Do anybody have any advice? Any work? Any help for me?

 in response to hanks55...   I agree with you there is a lot of problems in this country and I can't write a check a bad one but we can be trillions of dollars in the hole. We just have to call, email, fax the ones in power period.
Your mom needs to get a trust not only a will. I think as out here a will the house would have gone to probate verses to us without a trust and mom's house had been paid for. Sorry for your loss of brother and the other in prison. I had a cousin do time in prison long story ,, he was a bouncer at a bar , big man.

 in response to Starshine...   Yes planned parenthood is facing some problems now for sure, but think they brouth some of it on themselves...A lot of people do not like that planned parenthood using tax payers dollars for killing babies i see on tv.
There is a big problem in this country now and it does not have the money to keep going like it is. Bush spent 9 trillion dollars over 8 years but Obama has spent 5 trillion dollars in just over 26 months in office. Someone needs to get on the job before no one can get SS, SSI, SSDI, Medicare, Medcaid, and so on.
The states are going broke and all the unions wnat is more money. They just dont get it or dont care what happens down the road. I cannot stand the fact that the the Dems and Reps. dont get it as well. Need to kick them all out and start over I think....
My mom may have a will but not sure. She does not see fit to tell me anyting. I'm not sure that she has told my 2 brothers either. In any case I guess she will sometime down the road. I do know she told me that she has no life ins. but has grave site...
I had one younger brother to die back in 2000 and one younger is in prision until 2030. My youngest brother is living at home with mom, because she cannot make it on her own. The home was paid for with cash by my grandfather when it was built back in 1973. Both of her cars are paid for as well so that is good.
I'm just not sure what she is going to do. She did state some time back that she might sell home and move into condo...Who Knows...

Cats were meant to be outside. Safer inside but they were meant to be outside. Have your mom get a living trust and in the blank trust have her write down who gets what and have it nortrized. Then when the end comes the will goes and the trustee goes into effect. In fact she can start to give away personal items when she feels fit. Death brings out the greedy for sure and that is not good for any of us. My rich boss his dad is left and his dad is well off. His sister is well of and married to an attorney and he dreads the day his dad dies as his sister will give him hell over the money. What is left.
I think in due time is the country doesn't turn around and more get feed up there will be our own up revolution. No one knows what to do but the only alternative is to live with others to cut the cost of living.
Who would have thought we be in this mess. Manager told me yesterday he sees people shopping and he said I can't. Like to see those people save their money as it is not going to get better or help someone who needs it. It will be a rat race to see who can get what food etc...See facebook petition for planned parenthood not to close it.

Some people can be a real pain in the butt ! Have no clue what will happen when my mother will past and what my brothers will want to do...I;m sure it will be a mess...I will be glad when the warm weather comes back as well. I's 37 here today and raining. A little colder and it will turn into snow I guess. I do not know what to do anymore whit the country going to Hell In A Handbag !

 in response to hanks55...   I kept thinking about my cat last night and all I wanted to add to his blog spot I did. I really miss him even though he could be a handful. It was a better life for us at the house with the yard and him being able to go in and out of course me the door man through all of this. I miss the house and hate it here. Only if my sister would have sold me her share in the begging instead of being greedy and stubborn plus non communicative. Everything would have been settled. Some people are just butt heads to put it nicely when there is death in family and she is one. Such is life.

My sheets and things look like a tornado hit it. I was bored on the net and called it quits by 1030 went to bed by 1130. Then couldn't sleep good. Woke at 3am so not fun. I am a 22 year old single mother, full time college student.
I have come here to find people who understand my situation, and can offer advice as to where I can go next.
I lost my job after I had my son; I was no longer available anytime they wanted me to work (I only had someone to watch my son between 9am and 8:30pm) and so they let me go to hire someone who was available all the time. That was nearly a year ago now.
I searched for a job desperately for months, and found nothing. So I applied for financial aid and took out a loan and began college; I am going for nursing and am hoping that after my degree I will be able to take care of my son alone.
But I was granted far less than I needed from the loan, and slowly that has brought me to where I am now.
My phone bill is past due, and I currently owe a bit over $300. I have no money left at all to pay for this months day care costs, which are $580 a month. This is the cheapest I could find and is with my student discount. It costs me approximately $400 to get back and forth between school, my son's daycare, and home.
I can't afford diapers, and I'm currently about halfway through the last case I have. I eat just once a day and occasionally skip days to make sure there's enough for my son. I just don't see how I can get through this to the point where I have finished school and get a job. I don't know what I'm going to do when my phone company finally turns the bill over to collections. I'm desperate for advice.

It is with great hesitation that I write this. I am a very proud person, and rarely ask for help from anyone. I am 21, a single mother, in college, and working part time. My son is going to be 2 on Feb. 11 and I am trying EVERYTHING as my last resort. I'll start with some background information on my life...

I got pregnant as soon as I graduated high school (big surprise) and had to forfeit the full ride soccer scholarship I had received to Southeast Missouri State University. I was devastated, but knew I had no choice but to have my baby and make major life changes. I took classes year round at Southeast to stay on track with my classmates, even throughout the semester my son Parker was born. Parker's father and I broke up about 8 months ago when I discovered he was cheating on me, and moved out to be with his new girlfriend. Obviously, I was crushed. I was now a single mother with twice the financial burden I had before my boyfriend left me for another girl.

I was lucky enough to have grandparents that helped me watch my son while I went to school and work. Parker would stay with them 2 days, and go to daycare the other 3 days. Daycare was expensive, but I managed to pay for it. Last month my grandpa was diagnosed with a chronic pulmonary disease, and passed away a week later. After this incident, I enrolled Parker in full time daycare (as my grandma is too old to care for a 2 year old by herself). As you can imagine, daycare is EXTREMELY expensive, and I have struggled this past month to pay for my son to attend. His father helps me minimally ($250/month) which all goes to daycare. His child support only covers HALF of Parker's daycare bill, and I am left to cover the other half along with all the other necessities a baby has to have. Parker's father refuses to buy him diapers, clothes, or anything that may put a small dent in his bank account. At the end of every month my bank account is down to cents. I can't tell you the last time I got to go out with my friends, see a movie, or buy a new shirt because I simply cannot afford it.

Frankly, I feel pathetic for even writing this. However; like I said earlier, I have no other option but to start asking people for their help. I feel like a middle aged woman weighed down by financial burden and stresses, but in a 21 year old's body. All I want is to be able to afford my son's daycare every month so I can stay in school. If anyone could please do anything for me, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks for reading.

I know it is easy living in a city do to access to many things but i dont want to die before my time however that could happen anywhere...But ilike living in country settings that are close to large towns or cities...You do not have to even lock your doors here, but we do just incase...I lived in Washington DC, for years and made good money but hated living there...Well my headache is still hanging in there so will go for now and will check in later...We just got hit with another snow storm which i'm sure is on tv... 1 & 1/2 feet to 5 feet on the east coast...
It is pretty but starting to get old now...

 in response to hanks55...   This is city and even the beach was hit with gangs, shootings and copters from 11AM till 12midnightso I wanted out. It got worse down there and out her is okay but I have seen guns pulled from cops chasing a car at a gas station I was at. 13 cops car pulled into this little station and I got out of there. The bank I use to go to one day had a feeling it was robbed pulled up later to do my banking and cops were there is had been robbed it really caused post traumatic stress for one teller. The bank put up plexi glass window but still got robbed as they were near a freeway.
